Vic's House

Water Chip? Been There, Done That
Today I started making a pipe rifle with 3dsMax and I ended up with this:

And now I've decided to completely model (or at least try) Vic's house in Klamath.
Anyhoo, the textures may still look a little awkward, but I first want to get the models for all the scenery done, and then I'll start to get the texturing as best as I can.

Oh, and does anybody know what the weird thing on the back of the piperifle is supposed to do? It's kinda hard to model it because it is so vague in the picture...

1. Cool pic.

2. Maybe it's the thingie (hammer?) hitting the bullet. I don't know how it's called but i hope you know what i mean.

i'd suppose that's an oversized hammer.

you, know, like the flintlock pistols and rifles (that size, not design)? you probably have to pull it back all the way, insert the bullet, lock the bullet & fire.

(just guesses though)

Hmm, yeah... that would be the most logical thing it could be. Well, when I'm working on it again, I'll try to put in a working mechanism and make a video of it...

I think its a little empty :? ... when you enter the back room, there are some boxes ans junk... not only a bookcase... the efeect its like a "junkyard"... your picture looks more like any little room with a broken bookcase. But its still cool.

Yes, I'm fully aware of that. I'm still working on it.

Right now this is what I have:

I'm first gonna make the walls looks more like the ones in game, which is probably gonna be a major pain in the ass, unless someone here is very good at texturing and would like to help me out.

There's the reference pic I'm using btw. Anyhoo, once I get the walls done, I'll do the scenery, and then do a simplified version of the surroundings (just the walls you can see etc). Well, that's the plan...

Ok, this is currently what I have. Today I will (hopefully) finish the front wall with the door and all...

Me like it except for the door. Not good colour that door. No nice like that. You change. Now.

That's how far I got with the front wall. I hope I'll have time today to finish it... I'll let you guys know.

Oh, and if anyone disagrees with the texturing... st*ff it :P I'm doing my best to stay true to the original but it's not easy... maybe if I were less lazy it would be but unfortunately I'm not...

Come again?

Btw, unfortunately I had no time today to work on it, maybe tomorrow... well, you'll see at the next update.

It's nice, where do you find your motivation to texture? (I'm asking because I've never found it :P )

Because without it, it looks like crap (no offense). I just see texturing as a vital part of the model and I actually like trying to find (and create) the right texture.

Plus, all my stuff is mainly box shaped... quite easy to texture those.

Ok, more stuff added.

Here's the front wall finished... all it needs now is a sign that says "Vics":

Here's a shot that shows the light falling through the window... I just thought it would be nice to show that:

And here's one of the desk I just finished modelling:

Well, let me know if you guys think I should alter anything... the next thing I'll be working on will be the collection of boxes scattered all over the place >.<
