Mark Morgan's music will be in Fallout: New Vegas

Only not in new tracks, but in reused tracks. Per Senior Producer Jason Bergman.
All of the new music in Fallout: New Vegas is by Inon Zur, however we do use some of Mark Morgan's tracks from Fallout 1 & 2. They're mixed in with the Inon music in places (so are sound effects from Fallout 1 & 2) and the actual tracks themselves will play in specific locations. We use some of Inon's music from Fallout 3 as well. There's a ton of music in this game.

So that journalist had a remarkably good ear to catch the snippits he heard!
Thanks UnidentifiedFlyingTard and Aonaran.

Seems that Inon Zur doesn't know anything about dark ambient, futuristic, Fallout music. Only orchestra.
Interesting what will be in result. Mark Morgan with Inon Zur mix.

Blaming Inon Zur for the direction of Fallout 3's soundtrack probably isn't fair, I would guess he got directions from Bethesda on what type of music. The music was bland as hell however, which would be Zur's fault.

I find it a bit weird to include Morgan's previous music like that but if it's mostly remixed (and I think it will be given how they talked before about experimenting with the music and how it changes depending on actions and locations) then I guess it could work. I mainly hope that the music composed specifically for New Vegas will be a bit more classic Fallout sounding.

I wonder if they took the old tracks first and later used the remastered ones. Also this step could somewhat explain why Mark needed to remove the download link for the remastered tracks. I'll guess he will put them up again, after the New Vegas release.

Do some research before speaking out of your ass

Hopefully Obsidian asked him to remain more on that style.
Still, don't forget they seem to be reusing some Fallout 3's tracks too.

I'm actually kind of bummed that they are simply re-using music from the old games... new game should have new music.

The devil you know? Or the devil you don't? At least we KNOW that the old music is good. Plus it isn't like they're using the raw tracks. We get REMIXES!! :drunk:

Judging from some of the previews, that's the style he went for, albeit with some asian influences.

This is amazing news. I can't wait to experience the wave of nostalgia when I'll hear some of the good old music in new fallout game.

Heh, this is probably what my source was referring to back when I reported that Mark Morgan is composing the FNV music and was proven wrong.

He/she could have been clearer.

Also, go back to writing your F:NV impressions!

Good news, I reckon. This is the best of a bad situation, at least.

p.s. I quite liked his Tactics soundtrack. Better than Fallout 3 which wasn't memorable in the slightest.

Aw, too bad. I hope there'll be radio stations so I can ignore Zur's music 24/7 like in FO3. Stepping out of 101 was like the one good track in the game.

I'm almost hesitating to play before someone releases another massive music pack like More Where That Came From or CONELRAD. Those mods made crawling around metros bearable, and also were like a small light of positivity to hang onto in FO3's utterly ruined world.

I bugged the author in the comments section of his article and made the thread in the Bethforums that sparked the response from Bergman, so does "Aonaran" get a thanks in addition to the aerial re-re?

Sure thing.

He's with us in spirit Ausir... just remember, whenever you're down because you're listening to bland forgettable music, you can always have the piece of mind that Mark Morgan is with you, right here..
*points to Ausir's heart*

There are radio stations in Fallout: New Vegas. There's a Vegas station, which I'm assuming will be like the GNR station in Fallout 3. You know, the main station. Then there is a super mutant radio frequency used by Tabitha. I think those are the only confirmed radio stations, but I remember reading somewhere that there are more minor stations broadcasting throughout the wasteland.
